A flat disc of alabaster, ∅20 or ∅25 cm (7.9″ or 9.8″) across and only 5 cm (2″) deep. The LED is wired in behind the stone: no socket to fill, no bulb to source. The top face stays opaque, so the light falls straight down over a kitchen island, dining table, bedside or hallway.

What makes it work

  • Alabaster cut thin — stone this fine transmits light instead of blocking it, so the veining comes up only once the LED is on: chalk-white unlit, honey cream lit.
  • A 5 cm (2″) profile — the disc reads as a line rather than a shade, so it hangs over an island or a table without cutting the sightline.
  • Bright below, nothing glaring back — a halo where the disc meets its rim gives you enough light to work and read by.

Light temperature — chosen at checkout

  • Warm light: soft and settled, for bedrooms and dining tables.
  • Cool light: crisper task light, and the stone reads whiter.

Before you order

The integrated LED runs at one fixed output, so wire it to a plain switch rather than a dimmer circuit and set the mood with the light temperature instead. Alabaster is quarried stone, so the veining on your disc will be its own — the photographs show you the tone, not the pattern.

Installation

  • Hangs from a single ceiling point; the round canopy covers the outlet and the cord shortens to any drop up to 150 cm (59″).
  • Fix into a joist or a rated ceiling brace rather than into plasterboard alone.
  • Over a kitchen island or a dining table, 75–90 cm (30–35″) above the surface keeps the disc clear of sightlines.
  • Beside a bed, set the lower edge just above seated eye level so the halo stays out of view.
  • Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.

Will it work on a dimmer switch?
No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed output, so it belongs on a plain switch. Choose warm or cool light when you order to set the tone instead.

Do I need to buy a bulb?
No. The LED sits inside the disc and comes wired in, so there is nothing to fit and nothing to replace.

Will my disc look exactly like the photographs?
The tone will be close, the veining will not. Alabaster is quarried stone, so each disc is cut with markings of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, for indoor, dry locations only, so keep it away from steam and splashes.
