A cast brass cherub carries the shade where most wall sconces use a plain arm — and the shade is a sculpted glass rose. It hardwires into a standard wall box through the back of the arm, so no cord, plug or switch shows. An accent light for a bedside, a mirror or a reading chair — dry rooms only.
What makes it work
-
Sculpted glass rose shade — layered, ribbed petals scatter the light rather than throwing one flat beam; lit, the collar petals glow amber while the lower petals stay milky, so the flower reads as lit from inside.
-
A cast figure instead of a bracket — a genuine casting with hand-finished detail rather than a moulded shell, the tool marks still readable in the metal.
-
Scalloped acanthus backplate — a deep, round, leaf-cut plate fixed by two knurled brass thumb screws, so the mounting hardware is part of the design instead of hidden under a cap.
-
Single-socket accent — one E12 or E14 bulb keeps it a layer of light beside a bed or a mirror rather than a rival to the ceiling fitting.
One finish, one size
Made in a single version: polished brass with a satin sheen rather than a lacquer glare, and an opal-white glass rose. There is no second metal finish, no other size and no alternative shade colour, so the fixture in the photographs is the fixture that arrives.
What it will not do
Three limits worth knowing before you order. It is rated IP20, which carries no moisture protection at all — dry indoor rooms only, so not a bathroom and not a covered porch. It is not rated for a dimmer switch. And the bulb is separate: a standard E12 or E14 candle base, which leaves the brightness and the colour temperature to you.
Fitting it
The supply lead runs from the wall box straight into the back of the figure's arm, so there is no plug, no inline switch and no visible flex once it is up. It runs on AC 110–240 V, so it wires to any mains supply. The scalloped plate fixes with the two knurled brass screws at its top and bottom, and the glass rose goes on last — hold it by the outer petals rather than the collar. Beside a mirror, convention puts the centre around 152–163 cm (60–64″) from the floor; beside a bed, lower, about 122–137 cm (48–54″). Have an electrician make the connection if you would rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you are comfortable with basic household wiring — it is a straightforward job.

Frequently asked questions
Is a bulb included?
No. It takes one E12 or E14 candle-base bulb, so you pick the brightness and the colour temperature that suit the room.
Can I dim it?
No — this fixture is not rated for a dimmer switch.
Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, and the second digit of an IP rating is the water figure — a zero there means no moisture protection at all. Dry indoor rooms only.
What size room does it suit?
It is an accent light, at its best in roughly 5–10 m² (54–108 sq ft) — beside a bed, a mirror or a reading chair.
