Hue Tiered Drum Chandelier, Alabaster, Brass, 9 or 16 Lights

Three tiers of natural alabaster step down from a brass ring, each plate cut with a soft scalloped hem and pinned by a single knurled brass cap. Unlit, the stone reads cool matte white, clouded with grey veining and the odd warm amber seam — closer to marble than to glass, and matte enough that it takes light rather than throwing it back. Lit, the source sits inside the drum: it bounces off the brass spider and passes out through the stone, so what reaches the room is warm and low-glare, brighter where a single plate catches it, softer where two overlap.

The nine-light spans 60 cm (23.6″) and stands 37 cm (14.6″) deep — real presence over a four-seat dining table without closing the room in.

The sixteen-light steps up to 80 cm (31.5″) and 52 cm (20.5″), sized for a long table, an open stairwell or a double-height entry.

What makes it work

• Quarried alabaster, plate by plate — every panel is cut from natural stone, so the veining across your chandelier is its own and no two plates repeat.
• Brass through the whole frame — the ring, the radial arms and the knurled caps that hold each plate are brass, so the hardware belongs to the design instead of hiding behind it.
• Two scales, one silhouette — 9 lights at 60 cm (23.6″) or 16 at 80 cm (31.5″); the three-tier profile is identical, only the span and the depth change.

Before you order

• Bulbs are separate — each head takes a standard E12 or E14 screw bulb, one per head, so you choose the output and the warmth.
• Hardwired, not plug-in — it connects to a ceiling point in place of an existing fitting, with no cord and no inline switch.
• IP20, for dry indoor rooms — that rating covers solid objects only and carries no moisture protection, so keep it clear of bathrooms, covered porches and anywhere it will meet steam.
• Measure from the canopy — the heights below are the drum itself; the brass stem and canopy add to the total drop.

What alabaster does

Alabaster is quarried, not moulded, so colour and veining are decided by the block a plate is cut from. Yours will carry its own pattern — the same soft white, the same amber threads running through some plates and not others. Thickness varies a little as well, which is why one plate can read slightly brighter than its neighbour once the bulbs are in. That is stone behaving like stone, and it is why the light has depth rather than the flatness of an opal shade.

What bulbs does it take?
One standard E12 or E14 screw bulb per head — nine or sixteen, depending on the size — bought separately, so the brightness and the colour of the light are your call.

Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which protects against solid objects but not moisture, so it belongs in dry indoor rooms.

Will my chandelier look like the photographs?
The form and the finish will. The stone will not repeat exactly — every plate is cut from natural alabaster, so the veining that arrives is particular to your fixture.
