Leather Strap Chandelier, Alabaster LED Discs, 6 or 12 Heads

Broad saddle-leather straps loop out of a flat ceiling plate, drape across the ceiling and fall away in long curves, each one ending in a round alabaster disc lit from within. Switched off it reads as tanned leather and pale matte stone; switched on, the alabaster turns a warm milky white with the grain showing faintly through the face, and no bulb is visible anywhere.

The six-head runs 152 cm (59.8″) in a straight line and only 10 cm (3.9″) deep, which suits a dining table or a kitchen island; the twelve-head opens out to 220 cm (86.6″) across and 114 cm (44.9″) deep, sized for a stairwell or a double-height room. Both drop 114 cm (44.9″) below the ceiling.

What makes it work

• The strap is the frame — the leather carries every light itself, so there is no metal armature on show and the fixture reads as one continuous line.
• Alabaster disc heads — each light is a solid stone disc with the LED behind it, so the fixture glows evenly instead of throwing glare down at the table.
• Leather and hardware matched — cognac brown with black fittings, black with nickel, or white with brass, chosen as one piece rather than mixed.

Choosing the light

Three light settings sit alongside the size and the finish in the buy box. Warm Light and Cool Light run at a fixed output and will not respond to a wall dimmer. Triac Warm Dimming is the one to pick if you want control: it is built to run on a standard TRIAC (leading-edge) wall dimmer, and the tone warms as you bring the level down. The LED is integrated, so this is set when the fixture is made — choose it with the room in mind.

Before you order

• The LED is built into each disc. There is no bulb to fit, and none to replace later.
• Rated IP20 — indoor rooms only, with no protection against moisture, so keep it out of bathrooms and covered outdoor spaces.
• It is hardwired to a ceiling point rather than plugged in, and the canopy sits flat against the ceiling. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.
• The twelve-head reaches 220 cm (86.6″) across and 114 cm (44.9″) deep. Measure the ceiling void and the stairwell opening before you order.

Can I dim it?
Yes, if you order the Triac Warm Dimming setting — it runs on a standard leading-edge wall dimmer and warms in tone as the level drops. Warm Light and Cool Light are fixed output and will not dim.

How far does it hang below the ceiling?
