A pull chain is the most honest switch there is. You reach up, you feel for it, the light goes on.

This sconce keeps that and puts a solid marble dome on the end of a curved metal arm. The stone is the shade — thick, veined, and heavy enough that the whole fitting feels anchored rather than perched. Light leaves downward only, so it lands where your hand is. Three ways to switch it: a pull chain for the traditional read, a toggle on the backplate, or a plug-in cord if you would rather not touch the wiring at all.
