Handcrafted from translucent washi paper made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree, this Akari pendant casts a warm, diffused glow unlike any other material. Each piece is a light sculpture — organic, quietly luminous, and made entirely by hand.
The light of Akari has often been compared to sunlight filtered through traditional paper doors — these sculptures give off a warm glow and a genuinely calming ambiance.
Features
Handcrafted by nature — glue traces are normal
Each shade is hand-bonded using paper and glue. Minor glue traces along the edges of the shade are a natural result of this handcraft process and are not a quality defect.

Bulb & light source
The Akari takes a standard E26 (or E27) base. We strongly recommend a warm Edison-style filament bulb (2200–2700K) — the amber glow through translucent washi paper beautifully recreates the quality of candlelight, or sunlight through a traditional shoji screen. LED bulbs work well too. Bulb not included.
