A single disc of alabaster, 32 cm (12.6″) across, sits proud of a round metal plate and is caught along its lower edge by a curved bracket in brass, black or chrome. The LED behind the stone lights it from the middle out, so the brown veining running through the white reads as warm amber and a soft halo spills onto the wall around the rim. Unlit it is a pale marbled moon; lit, the lamp itself never comes into view. The whole assembly stands 9 cm (3.5″) off the wall and measures 33 cm (13″) top to bottom with the bracket.

What makes it work

  • Backlit natural alabaster — the LED sits behind the stone rather than in front of it, so you read glowing veining instead of a lamp, and every disc carries its own pattern.
  • Three bracket finishes — brass, black or chrome, each against the same white alabaster face.
  • Close to the wall — 9 cm (3.5″) of projection over a ∅18 cm (7.1″) back plate, so it suits a corridor or a stairwell without catching a shoulder.

Before you order

Alabaster is a natural stone: the veining on your disc will be its own, and the photographs show the character rather than the exact pattern. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to fit and none to replace. It ships with a warm white LED — if you need a different colour temperature, tell us before you order and we will arrange it. The rating is IP20, which carries no protection against moisture at all, so keep it to dry indoor walls rather than a bathroom or a covered porch.

Installation

Wiring is permanent: the fixture connects to a wall box behind the ∅18 cm (7.1″) back plate and runs from the room's switch, with no plug and no cord. Beside a bed the centre usually sits around 150 cm (59″) from the floor; along a corridor or a stairwell, 165 to 175 cm (65 to 69″) puts the halo above eye level. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic wall wiring — it's a straightforward job.
