A single line of light instead of a fixture you notice. This light strips a wall light back to one slim rod and one round disc — warmth on the wall, not hardware. Hang it beside a headboard, a painting, or a stretch of blank hallway. The room reads calmer for it.

One slim rod and one round disc, and nothing else on show

  • Continuous line — the light runs the full length of the rod as one unbroken glow, not a row of points.
  • One round disc — the only joint on show; the rod crosses it and stands slightly clear of the wall.
  • Capped ends — a plain tube, closed flat at both ends, with no trim ring and no visible screw.

Look at where the rod meets the disc. The two come together cleanly, with nothing added to cover the join. That single detail is what keeps the fixture reading as a drawn line rather than a piece of hardware. The disc holds the rod a little clear of the wall, so the glow has room to spread behind it.

Fit and placement

Choose the length against what it hangs beside — a headboard, a console, a framed picture — rather than against the height of the wall. Which colour disappears more against a pale wall?
The black rod reads as a drawn line on pale plaster. The gold picks up a highlight and warms the wall around it.
