Hand-blown amber glass — the cloudy swirls in your shade are its own, and no two break the light alike. The plug-in version runs on 450 cm (177″) of fabric cord to an ordinary socket, with an inline rocker switch — no wiring, no ceiling rose. Hang it over a bedside table, dining corner, kitchen island or console.
What makes it work
-
Hand-blown amber glass — swirled striations run through the wall of the shade, so the glow it throws is warm and uneven in the way only blown glass is.
-
Opal diffuser across the mouth — a flat opal disc closes the bottom of the shade, pushing the light straight down and keeping the bulb out of your eye line.
-
Turned walnut neck, brass grip — solid wood turned to a taper, a matte black collar where it meets the glass, and a brushed brass cord grip with a set screw that holds the drop you set.
-
Plug-in or hardwired — the same fixture two ways: run the corded version to a socket through its inline switch, or wire it in permanently at the ceiling.
Before you order
The fitting takes one standard E26/E27 bulb, so brightness and colour temperature are your choice. There is no dimmer built in; on the corded version an inline plug-in dimmer paired with a dimmable bulb gives you that. It is rated IP20 — indoor, dry rooms only, which rules out a bathroom or a covered porch. On the hardwired version, have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.
Hanging it
Fix the ceiling hook into a joist or a rated anchor — plasterboard alone will not hold a glass shade. Set the drop at the brushed brass grip, then run the slack along the ceiling on cord hooks rather than across the floor. Over a bedside or side table the base of the shade usually sits 150–170 cm (59–67″) above the floor; over a dining table, 75–90 cm (30–35″) above the tabletop.

Frequently asked questions
Does it have to be wired in?
No. The plug-in version runs to an ordinary wall socket through the inline rocker switch on the cord; choose the hardwire version to connect it at the ceiling instead.
How long is the cord, and can I set the drop?
450 cm (177″) of twisted fabric cord. The brushed brass grip on the neck sets the hanging height, and the slack runs along the ceiling rather than across the floor.
Which size suits a bedside table?
Model A, the ∅ 18 cm (7.1″) shade. Model B at ∅ 28 cm (11″) is the one for a dining corner, a console or a fireplace.
Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which carries no moisture protection at all — keep it to indoor, dry rooms.
