A shade built from stacked rings of ribbed glass

  • Stepped silhouette — the glass widens tier by tier to a projecting brim, then steps back to a narrow base.
  • Fine ribbing — vertical flutes run the full height of every tier, breaking the light into fine bright lines on the glass.
  • Brass-finished crown — a domed cap and a small collar sit above the glass, where the cord enters.
  • Open base — the lowest tier is an open cylinder, so light drops straight down onto what sits below.

Look closely at where two tiers meet and you find no metal collar between them. It is the rim of one glass ring seated against the next, with a fine shadow line where they touch. It is a quiet piece of construction, and it is what gives the shade its vintage look.
