Twenty-four alabaster cylinders ride two brass rings, half facing up and half down, so the ceiling and the table below light at once. The fixture stands just 16 cm (6.3″) tall across a 60 cm (23.6″) span, so it clears a standard ceiling with no drop to duck around. Made for dining tables, kitchen islands, hallways and bedrooms.

What makes it work

  • Twenty-four small sources, not one — light arrives from two dozen shades spread across 60 cm (23.6″), which softens the hard shadows a single central bulb throws over a table.
  • Up and down at once — alternating shades wash the ceiling while the rest drop light straight onto the surface below.
  • Cut stone, not glass — unlit, the alabaster reads milky ivory with soft grey clouding; lit, it turns honeyed and the veining shows right through the wall of each cylinder.

Bulbs and fit

Every socket takes a G4 bi-pin bulb rated for your mains supply — 12 V low-voltage G4 bulbs will not work here, and that is the one compatibility check to make before ordering. Bulbs are sold separately and there are 24, so buy a full set at once and they age together; brightness and colour temperature are yours to set. Alabaster is quarried stone, so the tone and veining of your shades are their own.

Installation

The brass canopy fixes to the ceiling point and the rod is rigid, so the chandelier hangs where the outlet is — settle the position first. Over a dining table the base of a chandelier usually sits 76–91 cm (30–36″) above the tabletop, and this one adds only 16 cm (6.3″) below the canopy. Wire and secure the frame, then fit the shades and bulbs, handling each cylinder by its edges. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.
