Two opal glass shades, one throwing light up the wall and one down, on a body 25 cm (9.8″) tall. It sits close to the wall on a ∅ 10 cm (3.9″) round backplate, and both holders take standard E26 bulbs you can buy anywhere. Sized for a bedside, hallway, stairwell or landing.
What makes it work
Before you order
Bulbs are not included: it takes two E26 bulbs, and since the fixture is not built for a dimmer, lighting one instead of two is the simplest way to soften the output. It is hardwired to a wall point behind the backplate — no cord, no plug, no switch on the body — so it runs from the switch already on that circuit. Rated IP20, it belongs on dry indoor walls: not a bathroom, not a covered porch.
Installation
Hold the ∅ 10 cm (3.9″) backplate against your wall box before you fix anything — a wider box wants a cover plate for a clean edge. Beside a bed, a sconce usually sits 150–165 cm (59–65″) off the floor, which puts the lower shade just above the shoulder of someone sitting up to read. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic wall wiring — it's a straightforward job.
