Two alabaster cups meet waist to waist on a flat brass band, one opening skyward, one facing the floor. Each cup takes a common E12 or E14 bulb, sold separately, so the warmth is your choice. Two heights, 34 cm (13.4″) and 45 cm (17.7″), for a bedside wall, a hallway or a stairwell.
What makes it work
Before you order
Alabaster comes out of the ground, so your piece carries the warm tone of the photographs and a pattern of its own. The sconce is hardwired — no cord, no plug and no switch on the body — so it needs a wired wall point with the switching on the circuit.
Installation
The round plate covers the wall point and hides the fixing, so the sconce finishes flush against the plaster with nothing exposed. Beside a bed, set the centre of the sconce roughly level with the top of the headboard, commonly 150–160 cm (59–63″) from the floor; in a hallway, allow the full height plus clear wall above and below for the light to spread. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic wall wiring — it's a straightforward job.

Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which carries no moisture protection at all, so keep it to dry indoor rooms.
Will the stone match the photographs?
The tone will, the pattern will not. Every cup is cut from quarried alabaster, so the veining on yours belongs to your piece alone.
Which size works beside a bed?
The 34 cm (13.4″). It clears a bedside table and sits comfortably alongside a headboard, while the 45 cm (17.7″) reads better on a wider hallway or stairwell wall.
