• An open base — nothing closes off the bottom of the drum, so the light reaches the table unfiltered.
• Light between the strands — the winding is close but not closed, and the glow shows through it all round the brim.

Wound strand by strand, from crown to rim

Every strand starts at the crown, where the flex enters, and runs out to the rim. Laid tight beside one another, they read as one surface across the room, and as a woven object up close. The outer edge finishes in a cord bound along the rim, closing the strand ends under a clean bead.

The suspension is a twisted fabric flex in a pale oat. Hang it low over a dining table, a kitchen island, or a coffee table between two chairs — all three appear in the frames.
