Wyne is a hand-knitted lantern: a bamboo and wood frame under a thatched roof, with branch-patterned panels that break the light into soft, organic shadows. Lit at dusk it marks a place rather than floods it, which is exactly what a lantern should do. It suits a covered veranda, a pergola, a balcony, a corridor or an entrance hall.

Height is the lantern body and excludes the drop cord on the pendant version.

What makes it work

  • Hand-knitted bamboo - the frame and the thatched roof are worked by hand in bamboo and wood, so no two are identical.
  • Branch-patterned panels - fine twig detail set into the shade, so the light is filtered rather than glaring.
  • Warm or cool white - 249 to 2000 lumens, enough for a room or a sheltered corner of 5 to 10 m². Tell us which colour temperature you want when you order.
  • Universal voltage - AC 90 to 260V, so it works on any domestic supply.

Where to put it

This lantern is made for indoor rooms and sheltered outdoor spots - a covered porch, a veranda, a balcony, under a pergola or along a roofed walkway. It carries no ingress rating, so keep it out of driving rain and off exposed ground.

  • The pendant hangs from a ceiling, a porch beam or a pergola.
  • The post version stands on its own stem for a sheltered path or a border edge.
  • Along a walkway or a run of beams, a set of four or six reads far better than a single lantern.
  • Small suits a doorway or a narrow corridor; large earns its place over a table or a wide entrance.
