Glass Bar Ceiling Light for Kitchen Island, 4-Light Linear, 98 cm

Four glass domes in brushed-brass cups run along a chrome bar, 98 cm (38.5″) end to end, spreading an even wash of light instead of one pool underneath. Four E26/E27 sockets take bulbs sold anywhere and dim from an ordinary switch. It sits semi-flush, 24 cm (9.4″) below the ceiling, over a kitchen island, hallway or long dining table.

What makes it work

• Four points of light across 98 cm (38.5″) — an even wash along a run instead of a single pool underneath.
• Brass, chrome and walnut on one bar — brushed-brass shade cups and canopy, a polished chrome spine, and a turned walnut ball at the drop.
• Standard E26/E27 sockets — four of them, taking LED, incandescent or fluorescent bulbs you can buy anywhere and run off a dimmer.

Before you order

Bulbs are not included: the fixture takes four E26/E27 bulbs and the choice of LED, incandescent or fluorescent is yours. The drop is fixed at 24 cm (9.4″) with no chain or cord to shorten, so check your ceiling height first. And the rating is IP40 — dust-protected, with no moisture protection — so it belongs in dry rooms rather than a bathroom or a covered porch.

Fitting it

The whole bar hangs off one ceiling point: a round brushed-brass canopy of Dia. 15 cm (5.9″) covers the fixing and carries 98 cm (38.5″) of metal and glass, so put it into a joist or a rated ceiling fixing rather than plasterboard alone. The canopy sits off-centre along the bar by design — the asymmetry is the design, not a fitting error — so line it up with your existing ceiling point rather than the middle of the run. The four shades fit into their brass cups once the bar is up and wired. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.

Frequently asked questions

Are bulbs included?
No. It takes four E26/E27 bulbs, so you can pick LED, incandescent or fluorescent to suit the room.

Can I fit it in a bathroom?
No. IP40 protects against dust, not moisture, so keep it to dry rooms — a kitchen run, a hallway or over a dining table.

Can I shorten the drop?
No. The bar hangs 24 cm (9.4″) below the ceiling on a fixed mount, with no chain or cord to adjust.

Will it work with a dimmer?
Yes, with a standard dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs. The switch is sold separately.
