Glass Table Lamp for Console Table, Clear or Cognac Dome

Most table lamps hide the bulb. This one makes it part of the design.

A dome of glass sits on a brushed aluminium cone, and because the glass is transparent rather than frosted, the filament inside stays visible from every angle. Clear glass gives a bright, architectural read; cognac warms everything it touches and softens the bulb into a glow. The cone underneath is spun metal with a fine brushed grain that catches light along its slope. It is a console and bedside lamp — half of what it does is light the room, half is being worth looking at while it does.

A transparent glass dome on a spun aluminium cone

• The bulb is the ornament: clear or cognac glass rather than opal, so the filament reads as part of the object
• Brushed cone base: spun aluminium with a fine grain that picks up light down the slope
• Three light tones: warm, neutral or cool white — chosen at checkout, listed in the specifications
• Two glasses: clear for a bright modern read, cognac for a warmer, softer one

Cognac changes the room, clear changes the lamp

Through clear glass the light stays white and the object stays sharp. Through cognac the same bulb throws amber onto the wall behind it. Pick on what you want the wall to look like, not the lamp.

Half a metre tall

Tall enough to matter on a console or a sideboard, short enough not to block a mirror behind it. The exact figures are in the specifications.

Metal and glass, nothing else

No fabric to yellow, no plastic to craze. Two materials that both age well, which is most of the reason a lamp like this lasts past a redecoration.

Frequently asked questions

Is the glass frosted?
No. It is transparent, which is why the bulb stays visible — that is the point of the design.

Which glass for a bedroom?
Cognac. It warms the light before it reaches the wall, where clear leaves it white.

Can I pick the light colour?
Yes. Three tones are offered at checkout — they are listed in the specifications.
