Lush Twin Globe Wall Sconce for Hallway, Alabaster, Bronze

Two spheres of natural alabaster, one seated above a flat bronze arm and one below it, carried off the wall on a small round plate — the Lush sconce is the idea of a wall light reduced to its quietest form. Each globe measures 10 cm (3.9″) across and the pair stands 23 cm (9.1″) tall, so it reads as a detail beside a bed or along a hallway rather than a fixture competing for the room. Lit, the stone turns each bulb into a warm, honeyed glow and the veining inside it comes forward; unlit, it sits like two pale stone beads on a dark bronze bar.

What makes it work

• Two solid alabaster globes — real stone diffuses each bulb into a soft pool of light instead of a bare bright point, and casts it up the wall and down at once.
• Bronze-finished brass body — a machined arm and collar with real weight to them, in a warm dark bronze that settles against paint, plaster or timber.
• Standard G9 sockets — one behind each globe, taking bulbs you can buy anywhere, so brightness and warmth stay your call.

Good to know

Alabaster is quarried stone, so the veining across your two globes will be its own — the same warm tone as the photographs, in a pattern that belongs to your piece. The sconce is hardwired and rated IP20, a rating that carries no moisture protection at all, so it belongs in dry indoor rooms and clear of a shower or basin splash zone. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic wall wiring — it's a straightforward job.

Frequently asked questions

How many bulbs does it take?
Two — one standard G9 bulb behind each alabaster globe. They are sold separately, so you set the brightness and warmth yourself.

Will my globes look like the photographs?
The tone will match; the veining will not. Alabaster is natural stone, so each globe carries a pattern of its own.

Can I put it in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which offers no protection against moisture, so keep it to dry indoor rooms.
