A single disc of natural alabaster, 20 cm (7.9″) across, sits on a circular brushed brass backplate and glows from behind — close enough to the wall that it reads as a lit surface rather than a fitting hung on one. The stone is thick enough to hold its colour, so the light comes through warm and diffuse with the veining showing dark against it. At that size it works where a larger sconce would crowd: either side of a bed, up a stair wall, along a corridor.

What makes it work

  • Natural alabaster disc — real stone, so the veining on yours is its own and never repeats.
  • Brushed brass backplate — a warm, low-sheen circle that frames the stone and keeps the whole fitting tight to the wall.
  • Integrated LED — built in behind the stone, so there is no bulb to source and nothing visible from the room.

Choosing your light option

Two options at checkout, and they are wired differently. Warm Light is a fixed-output warm white for a plain switched circuit. Triac Warm Dimming is the same warm white, wired for a TRIAC trailing-edge dimmer — take it only if that circuit already has, or will have, a trailing-edge dimmer, because on a plain switch it simply runs at full output.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put it on a dimmer?
Only the Triac Warm Dimming option, and only with a TRIAC trailing-edge dimmer. The standard Warm Light option is fixed brightness and belongs on a plain switch.

Will my shade look exactly like the photographs?
No. Alabaster is natural stone, so the veining shifts from piece to piece — the tone stays the same warm white, the pattern is yours.

How much wall does it take?
20 cm (7.9″) across and the same in height, sitting tight to the surface, so it clears a bedside table or a narrow corridor without crowding it.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No — it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, so keep it clear of steam and splashes.
