Details
Instead of firing one bright cone at the wall, this sconce lets light spill both up and down from a slim central body, washing brick or render in a soft glow that never turns into glare when you glance at it. A rust-resistant metal shell wraps an acrylic diffuser and its embedded LED board, and the whole fixture sits just 3cm (3 cm (1.2″)) proud of the wall — closer to a shadow line than a bump.
What makes it work
- Two-way glow — light escapes above and below the body rather than straight out, so it lights the wall around it instead of throwing a single hot beam.
- Rust-resistant shell — the metal housing and acrylic diffuser are built to sit outdoors in damp air without corroding or clouding.
- Optional motion sensor — add sensing to either wattage so the fixture switches on as you approach and off again once you've passed.
Sizing and install
It comes in two lengths — a compact 12cm (11.9 cm (4.7″)) run and a longer 18cm (18 cm (7.1″)) run — both 9cm (8.9 cm (3.5″)) tall and just 3cm (3 cm (1.2″)) deep, and in 6W or 12W depending on how much wattage you want behind the glow. It hardwires at 110V–240V, so have an electrician fit it, or wire it in yourself if you're comfortable with basic work — it's a straightforward job either way.
