A sputnik chandelier that sits 24 cm (9.4″) off the ceiling instead of hanging. The stem is rigid — no chain to shorten, no cord — and the sockets are standard G9, so replacement lamps are an ordinary shop item. Six, eight or twelve lights span ∅85–125 cm (33.5–49.2″): living room, dining table, bedroom, study, low-ceiling apartment.
What makes it work
-
Only 24 cm (9.4″) deep — a rigid stem instead of a chain or a cord, so it fits standard and low ceilings where a hanging fixture would be in the way.
-
Six, eight or twelve G9 lights — the frame scales with the count, spanning ∅85 cm (33.5″), ∅96 cm (37.8″) or ∅125 cm (49.2″).
-
Three glass tones, two bodies — transparent globes hold a fine gold wire mesh that throws a woven lattice across the ceiling; cognac reads honey unlit and deep amber lit; gray stays a dark, mirror-like smoke even lit. Black canopy with brushed-gold rods, or gold throughout.
Before you order
The drop is fixed — no chain, no cord, no adjustable stem — so plan the position rather than the height. Each globe is blown glass, so expect 1–2 cm (0.4–0.8″) of variation between them; that is the material, not a fault. Fix the canopy into a joist or a rated ceiling brace rather than plasterboard alone: the twelve-light spans ∅125 cm (49.2″) and carries its weight out along the arms. It is an indoor fitting, so keep it clear of steam and damp. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.
Light colour — set when you order
-
Warm White — soft and settled: living rooms, bedrooms and over a dining table.
-
Cold White — crisp and bright: studies, kitchens and work surfaces.

Frequently asked questions
How far does it hang below the ceiling?
It does not hang. The stem is rigid, and the fixture measures 24 cm (9.4″) from the ceiling to the base of the globes on all three sizes.
Which size suits my room?
The six-light spans ∅85 cm (33.5″) for roughly 10–15 m² (108–161 ft²); the eight-light ∅96 cm (37.8″) for 15–20 m² (161–215 ft²); the twelve-light ∅125 cm (49.2″) for 20–25 m² (215–269 ft²).
What separates the three glass tones?
Transparent globes hold a gold wire mesh around the lamp and cast a fine lattice pattern. Cognac is a smooth amber globe with a honeyed light. Gray is smoked, and stays dark and reflective even lit.
Which lamps does it take?
G9 — six, eight or twelve of them, depending on the size you choose.
