A pear silhouette in ribbed silk

  • Pear-shaped body — a full, rounded belly narrows into a slim neck, the silhouette the lamp is named for.
  • Ribbed silk shade — fine vertical ribs run from the crown to the base, and the silk pulls taut between them.
  • Stalk-like stem — a slender dark stem curves up from the crown, echoing the stalk of the fruit itself.
  • Three-legged stand — three slim metal legs splay out from under the shade, one of them reaching forward.

Silk that carries the light instead of blocking it

Lit from inside, the shade reads closer to a paper lantern than a bulb behind glass. The glow gathers at the centre and falls away towards the shoulders and the lower edge. That gradient gives the light depth rather than one flat face. Unlit, it goes quiet — a soft cream form with the ribs showing as fine dark lines.
